The Lahore High Court sought reply from the Ravi Commission by February 24 next in a petition challenging the River Ravi Project according to which big plazas would be built at both sides of the River Ravi. A local bar member Ahmad Rafi Alam stated that the Punjab government instead of installing treatment plants to treat 'polluted and contaminated water' was going to establish a big project.
He said that this project might affect the environment severely. In his petition he said the water treatment plant project was being neglected and the information was being concealed from the general public about the new project.
