Growers can enhance yield by adopting latest agriculture techniques

Growers can enhance their per acre yield by adopting latest agricultural techniques and assistance of the provincial agricultural department for attaining financial stability and positively contributing to the national economy. This was observed by the Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed while addressing a ceremony to distribute animal, veterinary and farmer tool kits over 600 growers here on Wednesday. The Minister said that the provincial government was extending all out help to growers and livestock farmers with regard to animals.

World Wide Fund (WWF) for nature, arranged this ceremony whereby over 600 farmers trained by the fund were given toolkits which could help expanding their business. The Minister said that the government intends to work for welfare of growers through different projects in collaboration with the private sector. He announced that the government would support every such project which could bring about betterment in the life of growers and which could promote national economy.

Dr Farrukh Javed disclosed that the government was working on different projects aimed at bringing prosperity and happiness in the lives of farmers and growers. He claimed that results of these projects had already started reaching the common farmer. He said livestock farmer was registering financial stability in its life while government was allocating funds in abundance for animal health. He directed the officers and staff of the agriculture and livestock departments to bring down the expenses of the livestock farmers and small growers by extending them technical support and other incentives.
