Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Peshawar, and Royal Chamber Gallery (RCG), singed an MoU, aiming at to jointly promote Gems and Jewellery industry and hold Gems show in the provincial capital Peshawar.
During a ceremony, the MoU agreement was signed by WCCI Peshawar president, Ms Fitrat Ilyas Bilour and Royal Chamber Gallery chief executive Ms Saima Umar here on Friday. Under the agreement, both chambers would make joint efforts for promotion Gems and Jewellery sector through implementation of comprehensive strategy.
WCCI Peshawar president while speaking on the occasion termed the agreement was landmark step for boosting up Gems industry, especially participation of women in Gems sector, is a welcoming for economic stability in the province. She further stated that the foreign reverse would be swelled by export of Gems and Jewellery products with active measures by both chambers for the promotion of the sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
She expressed hope that the chambers would take steps for value-addition in the Gems and Jewellery sector, through which joint Gems exhibitions would be arranged at national and international level. She furthermore said the MoU will helpful to organise a successful Gems and Jewellery exhibition in Peshawar and make arrangements in appropriate manner in this regard. Ms Fitrat emphasised the women entrepreneurs to come forward to invest in Gems and Jewellery sector. She attributed that women are playing important role in economic development of the country, and government should provide equal opportunities to women to start any businesses at their own level, she stressed.
