LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky State
Fair opens its 11-day run Thursday in Louisville, and among the sights and
sounds will be exhibits of the state's agriculture industry.
The state Department of Agriculture will be
set up in a new display in the West Wing that looks like the side of
a barn with a fence around it. Visitors will get to see product demonstrations
and taste foods from vendors in the Kentucky Proud program - the promotional
program for Kentucky producers.
Kentucky Proud will have a presence in other
locations as well. The program's farmers' market will be back outside the
corner of the West Hall. And exhibitors who show livestock born and raised in
Kentucky will be eligible for additional premiums through the Kentucky Proud
Livestock Tag Program.
