UC Davis gets global nod for agriculture, forestry



The University of California Davis reports that it has earned a worldwide top rankingfor teaching and research in the area of agriculture and forestry.

The QS World University Rankings, which were released today, also recognized UC Davis in several other categories, according to a news release.


This was the first time that British company Quacquarelli Symonds, considered to be one of the most influential international university rankings providers, has ranked institutions in the category of agriculture and forestry.

The company evaluated 2,858 universities and ranked 678 of them in 30 subject areas, according to UC Davis. In other categories in the worldwide ranking, UC Davis ranked No. 12 in environmental sciences and No. 25 in biological sciences. Both of those rankings were a significant improvement from last year.
