The 2008 Farm Bill is set to
expire on Sept. 30, and Congress is already making headway to establish a new
bill, with a proposal on the Senate floor at present. This bill will shape food
and agricultural policies for the next five years, affecting food stamps, crop
insurance, conservation practices, school-lunch programs, nutrition education,
research monies, and energy initiatives ,among many other issues.
