Week-long agriculture fair begins in Hazaribagh

DC Manish Ranjan inaugurated the week-long agriculture fare in Hazaribagh. About 500 peasants from four blocks Ichak, Sadar, Katkamsandi and Katkamdag are participating in this fair with their agricultural products. In this fair altogether 25 stalls have been decorated having tools and items used in agriculture.

Addressing the gathering Ranjan expressed his pleasure on the performance of peasants of Hazaribagh district in getting crops and vegetables of different varieties on such a large scale.

He said that land is limited and population is increasing so it is the responsibility of the peasants to get more and more yield from the limited piece of land. DC Ranjan also talked about the Kissan credit card and agriculture insurance scheme.

He also informed about the paddy procurement centers and scheme of State Government and assured them of minimising the problems of irrigation by construction of ponds, check dams, wells etc.

Experts from various fields will give important ideas and tips to the farmers in this week-long fair.

DC distributed tractors to nine, power tillers to seven and agricultural tools to several peasants during the opening ceremony.
